Produce claims
If something arrives wrong
Fresh produce travels through hands that are not ours. Occasionally a carton turns up in a state we would not have sent it in, and this is how that gets sorted.
Photograph it before you unpack
Take photographs of the carton as it arrived, before it is opened or moved, and of the produce inside. A photograph taken on arrival is worth more than any description written afterwards, both to us and to the carrier.
Tell us within 24 hours
Contact us within 24 hours of delivery. That window is not bureaucracy: fresh chilli deteriorates, and after a day nobody can tell whether a problem started in the shed, on the truck, or in your cool room.
What we will do
We will look at the photographs and tell you honestly whether it left here that way. If it did, we will replace the affected produce on the next run or credit it against the invoice, whichever suits you.
If it looks like transit damage we will take it up with the carrier on your behalf. You should not have to chase a freight company for produce you bought from us.
What is not a claim
Natural variation in size, shape and colour is not a defect. Chilli is a field crop, not a manufactured product. If you need a particular grade or count, say so on the order and we will pack to it rather than leaving it to chance.
